Reds Food Drive 2010

The Cincinnati Reds & News 5 Collected Over 10,000 Pounds of Food to Help Strike Out Hunger Locally

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul collected food Friday, June 25 through Sunday June 27 during the Reds vs. Cleveland Indians series at Great American Ball Park to feed families in need in Cincinnati.

St. Vincent de Paul partnered with the Cincinnati Reds and NEWS 5 to give two tickets to the July 20, 2010 Reds vs. Nationals game to the first 2,000 fans each day of the three game series donating a minimum of two non-perishable food items in designated food collection barrels. Each fan who donated to the food drive was entered into a drawing to throw out the first pitch at the July 20 game. The food collected will help feed over 3,500 people in our community for one day.
