Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank joins St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati’s Family of Services
Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank has officially joined St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati’s (SVDP) family of services. To celebrate, SVDP is inviting the community to take part in Cincinnati’s largest baby shower, a fundraising drive that rallies our community together so babies across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky can stay clean, dry, and healthy, no matter their family’s income.

From now through Mother’s Day, our entire community is rallying toward a goal of $100,000 to support diaper access for families across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Perfetti Van Melle has generously launched the celebration with a $15,000 match, doubling early gifts and energizing the start of this campaign. Proceeds from Cincinnati’s Largest Baby Shower will directly support Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank, helping sustain diaper distribution through our more than 40 distribution partners while also strengthening the program for the future. Since 2015, Sweet Cheeks (previously a program of COVERD Greater Cincinnati), has provided diapers to families in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Following a recent board vote, leadership responsibility for the Sweet Cheeks program, operational oversight, and assets have been transferred to St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati, ensuring that families can continue to count on diapers when they need them most.
“At St. Vincent de Paul, we believe dignity begins with the basics—and for a baby, that includes a clean diaper,” said Brad McMonigle, CEO of St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati. “Families shouldn’t have to choose between diapers and other essentials like rent, utilities, food, and health care. We’re committed to making sure they don’t have to.”
Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank distributes about 2.5 million diapers each year through its distribution partners, who share diapers directly with families they already know and serve.
Diaper need remains a growing challenge nationwide. According to a nationally representative study commissioned by the National Diaper Bank Network, nearly 1 in 2 U.S. families with young children (47%) cannot afford enough diapers to keep their child clean, dry, and healthy. That shortage doesn’t just affect a baby’s comfort; it can affect child health, access to child care, and work stability for parents and caregivers.
“When nearly one in two families can’t afford enough diapers, this work isn’t optional—it’s essential,” said Dr. Michaela Rawsthorn, COVERD Board Chair. “With Sweet Cheeks now a program of St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati, families and distribution partners can feel confident this mission will continue without interruption.”
Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank is now operating under SVDP’s 501(c)(3) at the Liz Carter Center at 1125 William L. Mallory, Sr. Street (formerly known as Bank Street) in Cincinnati’s West End. Sweet Cheeks’ primary focus will remain on diapers, with additional support for period products as resources allow.
