Two of our Vincentians visited Priscilla who owes $2723.00 for rent for June and July. Vinebrook owns the property, but has not sent an eviction notice yet. During this past Thanksgiving, her husband fell and dislocated his ankle. The dislocation led to an infection which led to an amputation of his lower leg. As a result of this, he had to spend some time in a nursing facility. Medical bills have put her behind with her rent. She works at a community center in Price Hill but it is mostly part time. Her husband is 66 and is on SSDI. Priscilla has $500.00 to contribute to her past due rent. If we add the $800.00 (our 300 plus 500 CAF) as our Conference contribution, she needs $1423.00 in order to catch up. She also says she is working on getting the August rent. Many agencies have said they are out of funds.
