Dear Vincentian Friends,
Margaretta is a widow with responsibility for an adult son, who suffered a stroke in 2023 and is in a nursing home; she also has custody of a 15 yr old autistic boy. She is a graduate of Cincinnati State and a teacher in CAA preschool program; suffered a spontaneous pelvic fracture in October. Her doctors project that she will be able to return to work in February 2025 after a needed surgery and therapy. She has started physical therapy. To complicate matters her building was sold in late October and now under a new property management company. She did apply for short term disability a second time after the first denial. She is applying for emergency cash assistance and SNAP.
She currently owes October and November rent, totaling $1850 plus late fees. Her mother is helping with the car loan. Her sole income now is $940 SSI for the 15 year old boy.
We know that your conferences have been generous with numerous other request for help of late! Everyone seems to be in trouble of late. If you can contribute anything, we and Margaretta will be grateful.
