Darnetta has her mother 2 sons, ages 18 and 21,living in her household. One of her sons was shot at the end of July and is in therapy for a leg wound. Her other son was shot in the abdomen on September 1 and is currently in the hospital with sepsis. Darnetta works part-time as a home health aide, but those hours have been reduced recently because of doctor appointments and hospital visits for her sons. Her mother does not receive her social security check until the end of the month and currently has nothing left for this situation. She owes $900 for October rent and received a shut off notice from GCWW if she does not pay at least $350 of the $850 she owes by October 9.(The remaining $500 will be due on her next bill because she said that her landlord will not approve her application to Promise Pay. She will not be able to pay that and will be in disconnect again.)
We are hoping to help Darnetta with her entire water bill and part of her rent. Holy Family can assist with $500. We are requesting twinning help with $1000. Hopefully this will give her the breathing room to have her November rent ready to pay on time.
