The most popular way for supporters to help future generations is to leave a gift to St. Vincent de Paul in their will. This is also called a “bequest.” This can be accomplished in as little as one sentence.
You can leave a specific dollar amount or asset, a percentage of your estate or the residue of your estate. These gifts help you leave a lasting legacy and often lessen the burden of taxes on your family.
Residual Bequest
After ensuring your loved ones are cared for, you can leave the remainder of your estate to SVDP.
“I devise the residual of my estate…to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, District Council of Cincinnati, Tax #31-0537510, located at 1125 William L. Mallory, Sr. Street, Cincinnati, OH 45214.”
Specific Bequest
Designate a fixed dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or specific assets like cash, securities, or personal property to SVDP.
“I bequeath (specific dollar amount/percentage/asset)…to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, District Council of Cincinnati, Tax #31-0537510.”
You can also support SVDP by designating us as a beneficiary of your IRAs and retirement plans, life insurance policies, commercial annuities, bank accounts
How to Name SVDP as a Beneficiary
These planned gifts ensure that your compassion and generosity continue to touch lives for generations to come.
